WE’RE HIRING! Casting Call for Actor/Puppeteer

We are seeking an Actor/Puppeteer to join us for the performance of our Anti-Bullying Theatre Show: Reach Out Now!

OpenView Education is a dynamic theatre in education company, delivering interactive, educational Theatre Performances and Workshops in schools across the UK. The company is one of the leading providers of exciting PSHE Workshops in the UK, reaching over 85,000 students, teachers and young people every year.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Actor and Puppeteer to perform our new Anti-Bullying Theatre Show – Reach Out Now!

‘Reach Out Now’ is an exciting, 45 minute theatre performance, performed by one actor / puppeteer.

You will puppeteer two Living Puppets and perform a Veil Poi sequence in the show. The show is supported by an audio visual presentation.

After the show, you would deliver drama based Anti-Bullying Workshops.

As this is a solo performance, we are seeking a resilient, high energy performer.

We are looking for applicants located in, or around London.

 

Virtual Casting via Zoom:

  • Monday 4th July 2022.

 

‘Reach Out Now’ Anti-Bullying Theatre Show Dates:

Rehearsals: Monday 24th October – Friday 28th October 2022 (London location TBC)

Performances: Monday 31st October – Friday 2nd December 2022 (Weekdays only) (London & Surrounding Counties)

 

Fees:

Rehearsals: £400 per week (£80 per day)
Touring: £700 per week (£140 per day)
Plus travel contributions.

 

What to expect:

  • Freelance, performance based work in schools.
  • A supportive, responsive office team, on hand to provide guidance and support.
  • Competitive rates of pay and travel contributions.

  • Full training and scripts provided in advance.

 

Essential:

  • Based in London
  • Experience/background in performance/Theatre
  • Experience of facilitating workshops/teaching.
  • Willing to travel in your own vehicle or another suitable form of transport (E.G – Public transport)
  • Current, Enhanced DBS check (within 2 years, or on update service), or willingness to undergo one.
  • Laptop with PowerPoint
  • Bluetooth Speaker
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude!

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working as a solo performer/facilitator.
  • Experience in Puppetry.
  • Access to your own vehicle.
