Welcome to the Press & Play Anti-Bullying Lesson: What Are Stereotypes?
In this KS2 video lesson, pupils learn what stereotypes are, why they can be unfair, and how assumptions about people can sometimes lead to bullying.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to:
- Explain what a stereotype is, including that a stereotype is an unfair assumption about a person or group of people based on a characteristic.
- Recognise that people should be treated as individuals, and that it is unfair to decide what someone must be like, what they can do, or how they should be treated, just because of one characteristic.
- Describe how stereotypes can be unfair, harmful and how they could lead to bullying.
- Identify practical ways to challenge a stereotype safely and respectfully, using the steps: Spot it, Question it, Challenge it safely.
- Know when to seek help from a trusted adult
