E-Safety Lesson Plans and Resources: Childnet’s new SEND STAR Internet Safety Resource
Childnet is creating a brand new internet safety resource for pupils with Special Educational Needs. Childnet’s new Star Resource is made up of four parts:

Respect’
The resource is being launched in stages and currently, ’S – Safe Sharing’ is now available. The resource contains excellent activities specifically designed for young people with Special Educational Needs, for use with pupils in KS2/KS3.
In each of the four sections, there will be the basis for beginning discussions, with teaching activities included. Childnet’s resource can be adapted to suit your students’ needs, and can be used as a guide to educate your students in the best possible way.

The internet will provide excellent and unprecedented opportunities for young people, but it is vital that they know how to navigate it safely, and they have the essential skills for doing this. Young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities could be more vulnerable to certain risks whilst using the internet.
Childnet’s new resource is a fantastic way of equipping potentially vulnerable students with a good skill set to navigate the internet in the safest possible way.
Childnet’s ‘Safe Sharing’ Pack aims to ‘support young people in identifying what a stranger is online, and also what you should and shouldn’t share with them.’
